Highlights of this concert

  • True ambassadors for France on stages the world over, Katia and Marielle Labèque, ‘the queens of the piano’, are renowned for the fusion and energy of their duo. They are passionate about encounters and artistic freedom.
  • In his Concerto for Two Pianos KV 365, Mozart demonstrated his maturity and creative force! Nor did he have to take into account the limited capacities of the dedicatees, as was the case in other concertos, since he wrote the work for himself and his sister. So we can expect virtuoso, pearly piano sounds!
  • Another star of his time, the Guadeloupean Joseph Bologne, known as the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, became a virtuoso violinist, orchestra conductor and brilliant composer in the 18th century. He was also an athlete, a fencer and an army commander during the French Revolution.
  • His 1st Symphony is a perfect example of an early classical symphony. We’re delighted to introduce you to this work, which stands out for its charm and balance throughout its three movements. Let yourself be transported by this musical gem…
  • The concept of surprise pieces has become a ritual of the Solistes Européens, Luxembourg (SEL): the audience hears music whose title has been kept secret. At the end of the concert, the conductor questions the audience, and the responses come pouring in. A true challenge when it was launched a few years ago, the playful and educational aspect of this blind test has immediately captivated music lovers.
  • Target audience: curious music lovers, piano enthusiasts and residents of the Greater Region
