Highlights of this concert
- A living legend of the accordion and the bandéon, Richard Galliano has revolutionised and ‘de-ringardised’ (sic) the image and approach to the accordion. On Piazzolla’s advice, and following the example of his ‘Nuevo Tango’, Galliano renewed the history of French music and created the ‘Musette Neuve’: a success story that continues to this day, with the Solistes Européens!
- Being also a composer, Richard Galliano has chosen 3 pieces with orchestra in the musette style It’s the perfect way to celebrate the return of summer weather!
- Don’t miss the opportunity to hear the accordion star in concert, who is the only concert accordionist recording for the prestigious German record label Deutsche Grammophon…!
- With his two ‘Suites de l’Arlésienne’, Georges Bizet takes us to the gateway to Provence and its traditional music. Performed for the first time in 1872, the music of ‘L’Arlésienne’ was immediately recognised as an exceptional success by the Parisian public and made Bizet popular in Paris even before his opera ‘Carmen’.
- Come to the Philharmonie to experience a moment of grace and beauty with this music that is so noble and captivating…!
- Target audience: French music lovers of accordion, jazz and musette.
